74 Seconds

I produced and co-hosted 74 Seconds, a podcast from MPR News and American Public Media. The podcast won a Peabody Award and the Best Documentary: Gold Award from Third Coast.

On July 6, 2016, the world watched a man die, live on their phones, after a traffic stop in suburban Minnesota. This is the story of that man, Philando Castile, and the officer, Jeronimo Yanez, who went on trial in Castile’s death. The story sits at the intersection of race, policing, justice and safety in America.

Exceptionally Bad: A Short Story Collection

In 2016, Revolver published my collection of short stories, “Exceptionally Bad.” It’s 30 quick hits of fiction — all 300 words or less. The book is available for sale, and I’ve promised to write a story for everyone who picks up a copy. All you have to do is send me the first line: tracymumf [at] gmail [dot] com.

For their WANTED #14 contest, Revolver dangled a tempting prize: they would Photoshop the winning writer as a Civil War wolf rider. Ta da. Photoshop credit to Anthony D’Aloia.
